Himalayan Conservation and Rural Support Program (HCRSP) is a nonprofit organization established under Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984 (Now called Companies Act 2017) dedicated to the cause of sustainable development on the lines of United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with its prime focus upon the development and empowerment of thriving rural communities of the breathtaking landscapes of the Himalayas. HCRSP is driven by a profound commitment to ensure a sustainable future through undertaking a variety of initiatives in the areas of environment, renewable energy, education, health, social protection and mainstreaming etc.
Our Mission
HCRP strives to: Conserve: Protect the fragile ecosystems and biodiversity at the National level through innovative conservation programs and community-based initiatives. Develop: Empower rural communities by providing access to education, healthcare, economic opportunities, and infrastructure, fostering self-reliance and improving the quality of life. Transform: Undertaking a broad based change management process at the grass root levels that may transform the communities into organized and responsible social groups, who may respond to ecological, social and economic challenges around them as well as advocate the policies, focusing upon a comprehensive well-being and human prosperity.
Objectives
Improving the overall quality of life for the rural communities through harnessing the best of their in-built capacity, ethos and values as well as developing their economic capacity through multiple skill development programs and initiatives,
Promoting the principles of sustainable development that balances environmental conservation with economic, social development and cultural enrichment
Empowering the local communities through awareness, tailored training and social development programs, enabling them towards continuous improvement
Contributing to a more resilient and prosperous future of rural communities
Pioneering the most advanced and the best possible health solutions against the perceived risks at the community levels,
Strengthening the local institutions and community organizations to address their social challenges in the perspective of national and global developments and following a paradigm shift on the footsteps of “think globally and act locally”.
Generating a comprehensive response on the lines of United Nation’s SDGs; especially the highlighted areas of community empowerment and development
Developing a self-reliant and self-sustaining culture at the community levels that may capitalize the inherent resilience as well as to adapt with the most modern and technologically advanced transformations at the national and global levels.
